This notice describes the Fraud Files showcase and reader correspondence. Newsletter signup is not open yet.
Book purchases
Book links take you to the named retailer. That retailer handles your purchase, payment and delivery under its own policies. Direct website sales are still being prepared and are not open.
Reader correspondence
When you email us, we receive the information you choose to send and use it to respond to the inquiry or evaluate a correction. Correspondence is handled through the publisher's Gmail inbox. Please include only information relevant to your request.
Website operation
Cloudflare hosts this website and processes technical requests to deliver pages and help keep the service secure.
Optional analytics
With your permission, Google Analytics measures page visits, retailer-link clicks and article engagement. Google processes technical information such as browser, device and network information to provide these reports. Analytics cookies help distinguish visits. We do not enable advertising personalization.
We omit query strings and fragments from the page addresses we send, and do not install analytics on checkout, order, download, recovery or newsletter confirmation pages. We do not send email addresses or private download links as analytics events.
You can decline analytics or change your choice below. We also respect browser Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Your saved choice is stored in this browser. Withdrawing permission stops further analytics collection and removes this site's analytics cookies.
Optional newsletter
When newsletter signup opens, we will ask for your email address and explicit consent, then send a confirmation link. Subscription remains separate from contact messages and book purchases.
The planned service uses Cloudflare for subscription and consent records, and Resend for confirmation messages. Consent wording, confirmation time and unsubscribe status are recorded. Limited suppression records are retained to respect an unsubscribe. A purchase or inquiry will not automatically subscribe you. Newsletter open and click tracking are not enabled.
